How to use AI tools to bring about the next wave of innovation and updates that will change our digital marketing methods. These innovations and updates will continue to reshape how we interact in digital marketing.

Facebook

It is expected that Facebook will further integrate more AI tools and recommendations as it strives to adapt to the ongoing trend of increasing engagement.

More implementations based on AI recommendations, primarily by inserting more Reels clips into users’ feeds, has helped Facebook turn around its once-flagging engagement, increasing the time users spend on the app, despite a decrease in the actual posting of original updates.

Reportedly, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is very fascinated by the potential of generative artificial intelligence, indicating that you will see more generative AI features appearing in Facebook.

Celebrity-influenced AI chatbots

One of Meta’s big AI moves this year is these new chatbots influenced by famous people. They’re now available for chatting on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. These “AI characters” are basically chatbots designed to act like certain personalities, mimicking famous folks such as Kendall Jenner, Dwyane Wade, MrBeast, Paris Hilton, Charli D’Amelio, and Snoop Dogg.

The character portrayed by Kendall Jenner, named Billie, is described as a “No BS, ride-or-die companion.” Paris Hilton’s role modelled as Paris Hilton herself ā€” plays a detective partner for ā€œsolving whodunitsā€ in chats.

Instagram

Instagram has been testing various forms of AI stickers and image editing tools (along with AI suggestions for message summaries and DM replies) as well as new types of profile picture stickers.

Instagram AI stickers

Driven by Meta’s Segment Anything AI model, you can create stickers by uploading your own photos or videos from your phone’s camera roll, or by selecting eligible photos and videos from Instagram.

Snapchat

This year, Snap added a chatbot to its social media service, Snapchat, which is quite popular among teenagers. This chatbot can be personalized and customized by users, allowing them to rename and create their own digital representation.

Snapchat was the first social platform to join the trend of generative AI. They introduced a new chatbot element called “My AI” for Snapchat+ subscribers. This feature integrates ChatGPT into the platform, offering AI-generated responses to user queries.

Pinterest

Pinterest has become a crucial destination for product discovery and shopping for millions of users. By collaborating directly with retailers, it enhances its influence while offering cost-effective AR integration for retailers to enrich the shopping experience.

Pinterest will further advance its AR Try On feature to enhance its in-app experience. They’ve already provided makeup try-on tools and are exploring home decor products, using more advanced LiDAR processes in newer mobile devices to better map scenes and spaces, ensuring proper scaling and fitting.

It’s expected that Pinterest will continue adding more AR options, including more accurately fitting try-on tools for the real world.

LinkedIn

Through collaboration with its parent company Microsoft and OpenAI, LinkedIn is diving deeper into the world of AI more comprehensively than any other platform. LinkedIn has incorporated AI-generated profile summaries, post prompts, job descriptions, and collaborative articles.

Using its professional database, LinkedIn assists college students in planning their career focuses and helps professionals visualize potential career paths based on the experiences of others in similar fields. Another potential use of the LinkedIn database could be to provide additional tips to help candidates improve their chances of finding jobs within the application.

TikTok

TikTok has begun experimenting with generative AI tools, including text-to-video translation tools and AI-driven profile images. Next year, TikTok is expected to make bigger strides in AI. This includes integrating the text-to-video tool, allowing users to post videos entirely generated by AI, and expanding its AI chatbot experiments (currently in progress) for testing in selected markets.

ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, has joined the ChatGPT trend with Baidu and Alibaba Group, testing chatbots powered by a large language model (LLM). A representative from ByteDance mentioned on Friday that the project, codenamed “Grace,” is an “experimental AI chatbot still in its early stages, used only for internal testing.”
